The divine in us

Ljudsko u nama

Ne želi svetlost.

Životinjsko u nama

Ne zna o postojanju svetlosti.

Božansko u nama

Kada dam obećanje,

Postajem prijatelj

Sa istinom.

A kad to obećanje održim,

Moje postojanje postaje

Drugo ime za istinu.

 

 

 

 

 

17 TO BE FREE

 

Why do I want to be free?
If I want to be free
Because the rest of the world is bad,
Then God will ask me
To create another world of my own
Since His creation has failed me.
But if I want to be free
So that I can be of greater service
To my sisters and brothers,
To God's entire creation,
Then God in me selects the hour,
And at that choice hour
The aspiring human in me achieves
Freedom from life's ignorance-night.
If I want to be free
To love the world,
To be part and parcel of the world,
Then God is all eagerness
To grant me freedom.
But if I want to be free
Because the world is full of ignorance,
The world is nothing but a devouring tiger,
Then God feels that I am not the right person
For Him to grant freedom to.
He will grant me freedom
Only when He sees that this freedom
Is for dedicated service,
For the transformation of the human race.

 

 

17  BITI SLOBODAN

 

Zašto želim da budem slobodan?

Ako želim da budem slobodan

Zato što je ostatak sveta loš,

Onda Bog traži od mene

Da stvorim neki drugi sopstveni svet,

Pošto me je Njegova tvorevina izneverila.

Ali, ako želim da budem slobodan

Da bih mogao bolje da služim

Moju  braću i sestre

I Božju celokupnu tvorevinu,

Onda Bog u meni bira čas,

I u tom odabranom času

Ljudsko u meni koje teži postiže

Oslobođenje od noći životnog neznanja.

Ako želim da budem slobodan

Da bih voleo svet

I bio nerazdvojni deo sveta,

Onda Bog žarko želi

Da mi podari slobodu.

Ali, ako želim da budem slobodan

Jer je svet pun neznanja,

Jer je svet samo krvožedni tigar,

Onda Bog oseća da nisam prava osoba

Kojoj bi podario slobodu.

On će mi podariti slobodu

Tek kada bude video da je ta sloboda

Za posvećeno služenje

I preobražaj ljudskog roda.

 

 

 

 

 

26 COURAGE

 

To speak ill of the world
Needs courage,
But fortunately or unfortunately
Everybody has that courage.
To love the world
As one's own,
Very own,
Needs courage.
Unfortunately, most of us are wanting
In that courage.
The courage of the heart,
The courage of the soul
We badly need,
And not the courage
Of the unruly,
Aggressive,
Impure,
Demanding vital.

Potrebna je smelost

Da bi se loše govorilo o svetu,

Ali na sreću, ili na nesreću,

Svako poseduje takvu smelost.

Potrebna je smelost

Da bi se voleo svet

Kao svoj sopstveni,

Najsopstveniji.

Na nesreću, većini nam nedostaje

Takva smelost.

Smelost srca

I smelost duše

Veoma su nam potrebne,

A ne smelost

Svojeglavog,

Agresivnog

Nečistog,

Zahtevnog vitala.

Sincerity is the first step toward purity.
Purity is the first step toward self-discovery.
Self-discovery is the first step toward God-revelation.
God-revelation is the first step toward
God-satisfaction and man-satisfaction

Čistota je prvi korak ka otkrivanju sebe.

Otkrivanje sebe je prvi korak ka Bogootkrovenju.

Istovremenom

Zadovoljenju Boga i zadovoljenju čoveka.

 

 

 

 

 

40 PURITY

 

Cry for purity
The way a child cries for its mother.
Cry and cry,
For there is no other way to invoke purity,
No other way to inundate our earthly existence
With purity.
Cry and cry.
Inside the soulful cry
Purity-seed germinates.
This seed will one day grow into a tiny plant,
And then into a banyan tree.
Cry and try, try and cry.
There is no other way
To sow the purity-seed
And to see it grow into
The purity-banyan tree.

 

 

40  ČISTOTA

 

Vapi za čistotom

Kao što dete plače za svojom majkom.

Plači i vapi.

Jer nema drugog načina da se prizove čistota,

Nema drugog načina da svoje zemaljsko postojanje

Preplavimo čistotom.

Plači i vapi.

Unutar tvog duševnog vapaja

Klija seme čistote.

Ovo seme će jednog dana izrasti u tananu biljku,

A potom u drvo banjan.

Plači i trudi se, trudi se i vapi.

Nema drugog načina

Da poseješ seme čistote

I da vidiš kako ono izrasta

U banjan drvo čistote.

 

 

 

 

 

44 NECTAR

 

If we give what we have,
If we give what we are
To our Source,
Then it is not only possible and practicable,
But inevitable
For us to drink nectar.
What do we have to give?
We have to give what we see,
We have to give what we feel,
We have to give what we claim,
We have to give what we are
In the outer world
To the Source.
This moment we are ignorance-prince;
Next moment we are aspiration-prince.
This moment we represent darkness and ignorance;
Next moment we represent light and delight.
Whatever we represent at any moment
Should be offered to the Lord Supreme.
If this moment we represent ignorance,
Then we must offer it.
If the next moment we represent wisdom-light,
Then we must offer it.
Then at every moment
We can drink from the fount
Of divine Nectar-Delight.

 

 

44  NEKTAR

 

Ako dajemo ono što imamo,

Ako dajemo ono što jesmo,

Našem Izvoru,

Onda ne samo da je moguće i izvodljivo

Nego je i neizbežno

Da ispijamo Nektar.

Šta to treba da dajemo?

Izvoru

Treba da dajemo ono što vidimo,

Treba da dajemo ono što osećamo,

Treba da dajemo ono što smatramo svojim,

Treba da dajemo ono što jesmo

U spoljašnjem svetu.

U ovom trenutku smo princ neznanja.

U sledećem trenutku smo princ težnje.

U ovom trenutku predstavljamo mrak i neznanje.

U sledećem trenutku predstavljamo svetlost i blaženstvo.

Sve što u svakom trenutku predstavljamo

Treba da ponudimo Gospodu Svevišnjem.

Ako u ovom trenutku predstavljamo neznanje,

Onda to moramo da ponudimo.

Ako u sledećem trenutku predstavljamo svetlost mudrosti,

Onda nju moramo da ponudimo.

Tada u svakom trenutku možemo

Da pijemo sa izvora

Božanskog Nektar-Blaženstva.

How can I purify my mind?
I can purify my mind
Only by looking at a flower
And praying to God
To make me as pure as the flower.
How can I purify my mind?
I can purify my mind
Only by looking at the moon
And praying to God
To make my mind as peaceful as the moon.
How can I purify my mind?
I can purify my mind
Only by looking at a candle flame
And praying to God
To make my mind as one-pointed
As the flame.
By looking at a flower,
By looking at the moon
And
By looking at the candle flame
I can purify my mind.
Once purification takes place in the mind,
Slowly and steadily
The body and vital become pure.
Mental purity comes first
For the illumination
Of the entire body-consciousness.

Kako mogu da pročistim svoj um?

Svoj um mogu da pročistim

Jedino gledanjem u cvet

I molitvom Bogu

Da me učini čistim kao što je cvet.

Kako mogu da pročistim svoj um?

Svoj um mogu da pročistim

Jedino gledanjem u Mesec

I molitvom Bogu

Da moj um učini mirnim kao što je Mesec.

Kako mogu da pročistim svoj um?

Svoj um mogu da pročistim

Jedino gledanjem u plamen sveće

I molitvom Bogu

Da moj um učini jednousmerenim

Kao što je plamen.

Gledanjem u cvet,

Gledanjem u Mesec

I

Gledanjem u plamen sveće

Mogu da pročistim svoj um.

Kad jednom dođe do pročišćenja u umu,

Polako i sigurno

Telo i vital

Postaju čisti.

Prvo dolazi mentalna čistota,

Radi prosvetljenja

Celokupne telesne svesti.

 

 

 

 

48 RESPONSIBILITY

 

Our first responsibility
Is to please the omnipresent God,
The Source, the inner Pilot.
First we have to please God
Who is our Heaven-Friend
Earth-Friend,
Hell-Friend,
Everywhere Friend.
Our second responsibility
Is to please our nearest and dearest ones
On earth,
Those whom God wants us to claim as our own.
Our third responsibility
Is to please ourselves.

Naša prva odgovornost je

Da zadovoljimo sveprisutnog Boga,

Naš Izvor, našeg Unutrašnjeg Pilota.

Prvo treba da zadovoljimo Boga

Koji je naš Prijatelj na Nebu,

Prijatelj na zemlji,

Prijatelj u paklu,

Prijatelj svuda.

Naša druga odgovornost je

Da zadovoljimo naše najbliže i najdraže

Na zemlji,

One koje Bog želi da smatramo svojima.

Naša treća odgovornost je

Da zadovoljimo sebe.
